All about the new JBL Quantum 100N, 360 Wireless and more with Mikael Herje

Harman has just unveiled its new gaming lineup including headphones and microphones such as the JBL Quantum 50N, JBL Quantum 360 Wireless, JBL Quantum 100N, or JBL Quantum 100 M2, and in this exclusive interview recorded in Madrid we get the finer details about the Nintendo Switch-coloured products and more.

"Hi Gamereactor friends we are at the JBL presentation in Madrid with the lake in the background and when you're seeing this it means we can tell you about this and about some of the gaming products that you guys have introduced here from the JBL Quantum lineup so thank you so much for joining us once again Mikael. The ones I'm wearing they really look like my Nintendo Switch. Is that on purpose? The Switch is a console that is important in the market and we see more and more consumers wanting to match their gear with their console so this is a cool color upgrade for the Quantum 100 Nintendo Switch. And they are wired as I can see. I play the Switch with the Quantum TWS as you know with the dangle but this is just an alternative option? Yeah it's a traditional lightweight wired option. More budget friendly than the true wireless indeed. And also for younger gamers that wants to stand out have something fashionable matching as well. So it's very entry level? It's the entry level of the range yes. And the price is €29.99 if I'm correct? I would say around that space yes. In Euros? In Euros. All right and of course the color scheme and everything reminds me of the Switch and then we have another way. Same colors, same color, same wired. These are kind of cool because they're also in the entry space but on these we have done the color upgrades but if you look closely here this we call a twist lock and this fitting is the same we use on our sports headphones. So they twist and they really stick. So for mobile gaming, Nintendo Switch gaming and you move around a bit they stay in. So super comfortable they stay in place yeah and really cool cool in here. And these are two mini jack as well same as the previous ones and then you can control volume etc. Everything on your buds mute button etc. But if you want the same type of deal but on USB-C you also got us covered with this one. That is exactly correct. So we have the Quantum 50C which comes then with a dongle with a DAC built in. That means you can also connect it to your gaming PC and have Quantum Engine support. So then you get surround sound, you get EQ, customization, everything you get on a more premium headset you get on these as well. And if I'm correct all these are on the same more or less price range, entry price range and then we can learn a little bit more the 100 right? That's the 100 correct. So here we go with the color upgrade, cushion upgrades, you get softer cushions for longer comfortable wear. So this is the second generation of the Quantum 100 a new color edition. It's very good when it gets warm. It is and also for the long sessions. They're very light I can tell you. But if you want you also have the wireless version of those 350. 350 that's correct. Same upgrade, cushions, colors make it more I mean fun instead of the traditional black as well. But the same features you have the volume control, you have the game chat dial, mute, detachable mic, all those cool features you had in the 350. And these come with a dongle I guess?
This has a dongle but also USB A. But also Bluetooth. So you can play your music on your phone and it's Bluetooth 3.5.3. 5.3 correct. Of course so many numbers and letters and models. For example this mic over here I thought it was the previous model but it's not. This hasn't released yet and it's a more premium version for a studio. We call it the Stream Studio. So if you want studio recording quality at home or you do a podcast we have brought to market the Quantum Stream Studio. It has four polar patterns. It has full digital interface so it works with the Quantum Engine Suite. You can connect this to an EQ."

"You can do all your pre-recording settings all those kind of things. Has three condenser mics. Tap to mute on the top. VU meter in front so you can see how much audio recording. Has a built-in audio reduction circuit so if it's close to clipping it also adjusts your gain control. You can adjust the gain control manually and it also has a multi-purpose stand so you can connect it to M4. And there's also two meter cable in the box so it's easy to connect it but you also have the fixtures to the foot so you can do all the adaptations you need for a boom arm as well."

"Fantastic and this releases in the summer?
In the summertime at 149.
Okay and finally well we have two models over here. We've already talked a little bit about this but please I mean give us a recap because we love this little one here."

"Yeah it's cool because communication streaming content creation happens not only at the desk it happens on the go. So we will bring to market what we call the stream wireless which is a small clip-on microphone one condenser mic wireless but also comes with the dongle that works with an Android and iOS. Has power passthrough of course. It also comes with a an app so it actually can do your pre-recording setting noise suppression etc etc."

"And you have these in two versions USB-C and Lightning which is the one you can read our review at Gamereactor. And finally a more entry-level mic but it's good for streamers I guess.
It is. It's a really premium execution of an entry entry microphone. It has all the features you need for a really good conversation or a recording. It's a single polar pattern for this one. It's directional but you can adjust it. Has the USB-C connection, audio return channel, same interface as the more expensive one. Tap to mute, gain control, volume control."
